Volunteer Positions
We have lots of volunteer positions to fill before Christmas, on Christmas Day and after our program ends. No matter your interests or your schedule, we’re sure there’s a role for you!
Take a moment to read through the description of each position.
Before Christmas Positions
It takes more than a jolly man in red to gather all of our donations. Starting in November, we need help to deliver donation boxes to companies around the city. Then in December, we need extra hands to pick them up again. If you have time to pick up a box or two in your neighbourhood, you'll be our hero!
These incredible angels help us sort, organize, pack and fill the Christmas food hamper and personal hygiene care boxes. This group keeps us organized right up to our busiest day of the year. Want to help? Watch the Volunteer Opportunities page for dates and times we'll need help. We require help throughout the week before Christmas Eve. They must also be able to stand on their feet, work quickly, and lift at least 30 lbs.
"Little workshop angels" who want to sort gifts will require adult supervision.
It takes a team to gather all of the supplies. Starting in November, we need help to pick up things around the city. If you have time during the day to help, usually with short notice, we'd be so appreciative!
Role requirements include: access to a vehicle, valid drivers license, and the ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Santa has his hands full until Christmas Eve, and then there are still things he need help with after Christmas. These volunteers may help with administrative work, committee work, event volunteers, and many other options. Got any special skills? Let us know as we can always find a spot.
Christmas Day Positions
These angels ride with Santa and a Chief Angel On Board and make home visits on Christmas Morning. It's their job to spread Santa's Angel's mission of "Spreading the spirit of giving." Teams of Angels meet early Christmas morning and will be on the road for 3+ hours in the route that has been assigned to them. They help Santa with gifts, food and Christmas spirit to families at each visit.
All angels must be at least 16 years and older, be able to lift at least 30 lbs and climb stairs.

It's a big job! Becoming Santa is an immense responsibility, but a rewarding one. Santas visit every family on their route, lead angels to each home, deliver gifts and food. A visit from Santa is like nothing else—every home visit should be magical, genuine and jolly!
While Santa's come in all sizes and shapes, all share common qualities: they have a caring disposition, an upbeat personality, good listening skills, are non-judgmental of those they visit. We provide the Santa suit.
Training is mandatory; you will be contacted when the training date is arranged. If you do not attend training, you may be denied the opportunity to act as Santa.
Chief Angels On-board are the "captains" on their route on Christmas Day. They contact the families on their route, organize gifts, plan their route, prepare Santa and their team for each visit, and act as primary contact for the team. Returning volunteers should consider applying as CEO.
This is a big role on Christmas day. Training is mandatory; you will be contacted when the training date is arranged. If you do not attend training, you may be denied the opportunity to act as Team Lead.
This role is exactly how it sounds! Without the help of our loader Angels, there would be no toys or gifts on our vans. This cheery team is what allows us to be packed and ready to go! This job is outside early Christmas morning, so you'll need to dress appropriately, be prepared to work in cold weather, work quickly, and be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Santa and angels visit nursing homes, hospitals, and care homes on Christmas Day. These volunteers hand out chocolates, sing carols and bring smiles to faces. You must be at least 16 years old to sign up for this role. Visits can last 4+ hours, so please come prepared and dress accordingly in comfortable shoes.
